Inmates accused of selling drugs in prison
State police charged two inmates at the Rockview state prison with selling drugs to other inmates after narcotics were found in their cells.
The two incidents were unrelated. One inmate, Buster Hines, was found with more than 100 prescription pills during a random search of his cell in June.
The other, Darren C. Yorkman, was found with nine bags of marijuana in December during a search. Police also found three new boxes of cigarettes on Yorkman, and believe he had been selling the drugs and getting payment in cigarettes.
Hines and Yorkman are each charged with possession with intent to deliver, possession of narcotics, and possession of contraband by an inmate.
The charges are the result of an ongoing investigation by the Troop G Vice and Narcotics unit of the state police.
They were charged by a Rockview trooper and are expected in court Wednesday.
