A blue and white 2005 Yamaha 90 cc motorcycle was stolen from the backyard of a home on Market Street in Boggs Township between July 11 and 15. State police at Rockview are asking anyone with information about the theft to contact police.
Boggs Township home burglarized Thursday
Someone entered a home on Country Lane in Boggs Township through a side bedroom window and stole clothes and electronics between 9:15 and 11 p.m. Thursday, according to state police at Rockview. According to police, the residence was secure and unattended at the time of the burglary.
Snow Shoe woman injured in crash
A Snow Shoe woman suffered a moderate injury in a two-vehicle crash at 3:20 p.m. Thursday on state Route 144, about 300 feet east of Mayes Lane in Snow Shoe Township, state police said.
Carrie E. Walker, 22, was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment, police said.
Walker, who was driving a Chevrolet Cobalt LS, was trying to make a left turn on Route 144 from the westbound lane, police said. A Ford F-150 driven by Todd A. Bennett, 40, of Mill Hall, was traveling east on Route 144.
Police said Walker’s vehicle turned in front of Bennett’s vehicle, and the Ford struck the front right side of the Chevrolet.
Bennett was uninjured. Both vehicles were towed from the scene, police said.
Concession stand at State park robbed
State police are investigating the burglary of a concession stand at Black Moshannon State Park that occurred between midnight and 8 a.m. Thursday.
State police at Philipsburg say an unknown person or people forced their way into the concession stand through a side door and stole about $850 in cash. An unsuccessful attempt also was made to enter the boat concession stand. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at Philipsburg.
Rifles, knife stolen from Bellefonte home
Bellefonte Borough police are investigating a residential burglary of a home on East Burrows Street.
According to police, someone entered the home between Tuesday and Thursday and stole two rifles with assorted ammunition, a gold diamond heart pendant and a pocket knife.
The residents were not home at the time of the burglary.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Bellefonte police at 353-2320.
Spring Mills man faces more burglary charges
A Spring Mills man charged in December with helping commit more than 30 break-ins of homes and cars in Penns Valley was charged with two more burglaries by Spring Township police Friday.
Steven Poorman, 32, was charged with burglarizing two Pleasant Gap homes in August 2008, according to Spring Township Det. Dale Moore.
In the first burglary, police allege Poorman broke into a home on South Main Street and stole $2,000 in cash. He is also accused of climbing through the window of a home on Nittany Street and stealing $1,000 in cash.
He was arraigned before District Judge Daniel Hoffman, who set bail at $5,000 for each case.
Poorman was already being held in the county jail awaiting trial on multiple counts of burglary, conspiracy and theft. In December, he and two other Spring Mills men were charged with stealing electronics, guns, cash and other items worth thousands of dollars from homes and cars in Penns Valley.
Resident finds back door kicked in
A resident of the 300 block of Terra Sylvan Lane in Spring Township returned home from work Friday to find a rear door had been kicked in, Spring Township police reported. Nothing has been reported stolen. Anyone with information is asked to call Spring Township police at 1-800-479-0050.
