Teen to face assault, harassment charges
State police are charging a 13-year-old boy with indecent assault and harassment after they say he inappropriately touched a 13-year-old girl several times without her consent.
The touching happened between April 10 and April 24 on Sixth Street in Philipsburg, state police said.
Woman accused of starting suicide rumors
A 29-year-old Philipsburg woman has been charged by state police with summary disorderly conduct for allegedly talking about her own suicide.
The woman “started rumors of her own suicide, causing her friends and family much unneeded concern,” Trooper Shawn K. Inlow wrote in a press release. It states the incident happened at 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
Spring Mills Bridge set to reopen this morning
The Spring Mills Bridge, closed since mid-April to allow final work to be done on the bridge replacement begun last year, will reopen to traffic late this morning, according to the state Department of Transportation. Paving and bridge sealing will wrap up today, allow the bridge on state Route 45 to be reopened in late morning and the detour to be lifted.
The project to replace the worst of more than 50 structurally deficient state bridges in Centre County was carried out by contractor H.R.I. of State College at a cost of $1.9 million.
