Just call Bellefonte the Best Fly Fishing Town in Pennsylvania.
That's the word from PaFlyFish.com, which has named Bellefonte the top town in 2009
Anglers know what it's all about, with Spring Creek winding through town. There's also Penns Creek, Fishing Creek, Spruce Creek and the Little Juniata River close by.
Votes by members of PaFlyFish.com decided the winner, recognized for great fishing and hospitality.
“If I would ever move somewhere close to good fly fishing, Bellefonte would be at the top of my list. The town has all the amenities a fly fisherman could want with good restaurants; accommodations and two great fly shops nearby. Yet it still has that nice small town feel to it," said Bill Simmeth, a member at PaFlyfish.com.
