- sganim@centredaily.comThe Attorney General’s Office announced Friday that a Howard woman was indicted by a state grand jury as part of a roundup of a $2 million cocaine operation officials said was operated out of a Snow Shoe bar, The Crossroads, and the Lock Haven bar, Two Tuesdays.
Arlene Losch, 45, 108 Templeton Drive, Howard, is charged with one count of criminal conspiracy as a result of the investigation.
The grand jury found that 52-year-old Linda Phillips, of Lock Haven, who owns the Two Tuesdays bar with her husband, was dealing cocaine out of the bars on several occasions from a “party room” between 2005 and 2006.
The cocaine was coming from the accused ringleader of the group, Gregory “Val” Johnson, 35, of Plainfield, N.J. Johnson faces the most serious charges: four counts of possession with the intent to deliver cocaine and one count of criminal conspiracy. The Attorney General’s Office says Johnson was bringing cocaine into Centre, Lycoming and Clinton counties.
Losch told authorities “the money earned from a single week of selling drugs would sometimes total up to $10,000.”
She also told the grand jury that she stopped participating in the drug activity in 2005, but knew that many of the other six locals charged, including Phillips and Johnson, were still involved in dealing drugs through 2008.
Along with Losch, Phillips and Johnson, the following people were also indicted:
• William “Little Man” Reid, 24, is in the Clinton County jail, charged with two counts of possession with the intent to deliver cocaine and one count of criminal conspiracy.
• David Degrasse, 38, of All-port, is charged with three counts of possession with the intent to deliver cocaine and one count of criminal conspiracy.
• Carrie Darwin, 30, of Lock Haven, is charged with two counts of possession with the intent to deliver cocaine and one count of criminal conspiracy.
• Amanda Maggs, 30, of Lock Haven, is charged with three counts of possession with the intent to deliver cocaine and one count of criminal conspiracy.
