Police: Woman escapes from car after tree falls on it
From CDT staff reports
A woman climbed safely out of her car after a tree fell on it during a thunderstorm Thursday afternoon, Patton Township police said.
Kelsey Guth, no age or address given, was driving a Toyota Camry on Scotia Road when winds uprooted a tree, and it began to fall, police said. During the fall, the tree struck a power line and broke it.
The tree fell on the roof of Guth’s car, causing it to cave in, police said. Guth climbed out of the car through a side window, police said.
The power line fell onto another tree and also the road.
Scotia Road was closed for about two and a half hours while Allegheny Power and Patton Township Public Works Department worked to clear the road and surrounding property of debris.
