PATTON TOWNSHIP Just in time for the ride home in the snow and rain, the state opened an eightmile stretch of Interstate 99 Monday afternoon, completing the nearly 100-mile four-lane highway from the Pennsylvania Turnpike to Interstate 80.

PATTON TOWNSHIP Almost five years after state officials became aware of the water supply threat at the Interstate 99 construction site at Skytop, they reported signs of improvement in wells and a stream on Thursday.
If time is money, as it is in business matters, then its no wonder Interstate 99 road signs are painted green.
Environmental Protection Secretary Kathleen A. McGinty announced today that the DEP has approved the Transportation Department's plan to move a million tons of acid-generating rocks from Skytop into an engineered disposal site in the Bald Eagle Creek watershed.
