defense,Robert Gummo picked up the win on the mound for the Bandits (18-10), who will meet Williamsport at noon today for an opportunity to advance to the final. Gummo struck out three batters while working out of two bases-loaded jams in Bellefonte’s second victory of the day.
Earlier on Saturday, the Bandits defeated Jersey Shore 4-2, asJosh Wenselpicked up a complete- game win with six strikeouts.Derek Jabco led Bellefonte offensively with a double, whileEric Regeladded two singles.
UTICA, N.Y. — State College downed Shrub Oak, N.Y. 5-4 in nine innings before falling to Brooklawn, N.J. 9-6 on Saturday at the Blue-Gold Tournament.
Austin Mockled off the ninth inning of State College’s victory with a triple and scored the winning run on aRyan Blaschaksacrifice fly.
Winning pitcherWill Pryorhad a double and Scott Glassadded a double and single for State College (16-6), which tied the game with three runs in the seventh.
Mock andJose Texidor each had two singles and a double for State College against Brooklawn. State College trimmed the deficit to 6-4 with three runs in the fifth, but Brooklawn put the game away with three runs in the seventh.
