Citrus Bowl

Published: December 31, 2009

Well, it's finally here. I love bowl games. It's like a second season opener since you have to wait so long for it. And then you have to enjoy it and make the feeling last for eight months. Of course, it'll actually be about nine months since PSU won't play a meaningful game at the Beav until almost October.
LSU presents what would appear to be a good matchup for PSU. The Tigers/Bayou Bengals are down to their 4th string RB, and they have a mobile QB who is young. Their offense had trouble against the only teams with pulses (Bama, Florida) they played. Then again, they also remind MMQ of the Buckeyes (soph. mobile QB who was maligned before the game, solid D and special teams), and we know how that turned out.
PSU's defense should be able to contain LSU fairly well. Of course, that may not be enough to get a bunch of 3 and outs. LSU's Trindon Holliday is perhaps the best return man in the nation. PSU's ST coach (inside joke) should really strongly consider kicking away from him, punting directionally, even OOB, in order to limit his touches.
I like PSU to score 2-3 TDs and win a low scoring affair, something like 23-15.
I'll be back after the game to discuss, and then we can all turn to the biggest question of the off-season: PSU's STEP reseating of the Beav.
Pass MMQ some Blue Kool-Aid in the used "Happy 2010" and let's hope for a signature win to cap off a nice season.
