More than 10,000 veterans in Centre County may be eligible for services at the James E. Van Zandt Veterans Outpatient Clinic in State College, as well as at the medical center in Altoona, which offers more intensive treatments. Services also are available in surrounding counties, including Clinton, Mifflin and Huntingdon.

Staff: Three physicians, five nurses, one part-time phlebotomist and four medical clerks.
Services: Behavioral health, laboratory services, nutrition services, preventive care, primary care, social work services, tobacco cessation, prescriptions.
Eligibility: Veterans who have filed a 10-10EZ application for medical benefits and who meet certain financial thresholds; all returning Pennsylvania National Guard and Reserve service members for five years after returning from Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation Enduring Freedom.
