State law requires that all dogs 3 months or older must be licensed in the county where they are kept.
New tags should be displayed beginning Jan. 1 of each year. Licenses serve as a tool for returning lost dogs to their owners. People who do not buy a license for their dog may be fined.
Licenses for males or females that have not been spayed or neutered cost $8, or $6 for owners who are senior citizens.
Licenses for spayed or neutered dogs cost $6, or $4 if the owner is a senior citizen.
