DeChellis looking into alleged assault

Published: March 4, 2011

State College police are investigating an incident of simple assault/criminal mischief that took place last Saturday in a downtown apartment. So is Penn State's men's basketball coach.

Ed DeChellis said Friday morning that he is "aware of the situation" and of the photos of about a half-dozen young men walking down the hall at Cedarbrook Apartments taken by security cameras. Authorities have sent the photos to various media outlets, including the CDT, and are asking anyone who can identify the individuals in the photographs to contact police.

"My awareness is that there are some pictures of some kids walking down a hallway," DeChellis said. "That's the only information I have."

DeChellis added that he planned to "do my own little investigation and see what I can come up with."

The Nittany Lions will leave for Minneapolis early tomorrow afternoon for Sunday's regular-season finale against Minnesota.
