Genealogy through Blair County Deeds

Posted on April 3, 2011

The Blair County Genealogical Society will hold it's monthly meeting on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at 7 P M. The Society is located at 431 Scotch Valley Road, Hollidaysburg, Pa. The guest speaker will be Mary Ann Bennis, Register of Wills and Deed recorder at the Blair County Courthouse.

Find out what information is available through deeds, wills and other records. Find location of family and possible relatives live near them. Deeds may also show the property be passed on to other family members or it came from family members.

She will be sharing some humurous language found in deeds over the many years that she has worked at the Courthouse.

The deed books are stored at the Blair County Genealogical Society. Along with the deeds are wills, estate papers, and tax records. You may want to stop and see us since we have all these records and more at one stop. You don't have to go from office to office at the Courthouse to get these records.

Visit our web site and take the tour of our library. Also for the hours that we are open.

Come and see us, there is always someone available to help you.
