Penn State Cooperative Extension will hold a workshop, Marcellus Shale & Pipelines Understanding the Infrastructure Development on Thursday at the Lock Haven University East Campus, Room J101, 301 W. Church St. in Lock Haven.
The meeting will start at 7 p.m. Speakers include Dave Messersmith, Penn State extension educator from the Marcellus Education Team; Andrew Geibel, a gas safety inspector with the state Public Utility Commission; and Dale Tice, an attorney with Marshall Parker and Associates.
Discussion will include the background and need for pipeline development in the Marcellus region, regulations and safety issues, and the legalities of right-of-way agreements. A question- and-answer period will follow the discussion.
