Two New Jersey residents escaped injury Friday after their car crashed into trees along Interstate 80 in Rush Township, state police at Rockview said.

According to a news release, a 2008 Pontiac G6 driven by Gabriel Joseph, 23, of Roselle, N.J., veered off the road onto the snow-covered shoulder and slid through the median. Police said the vehicle struck several trees and came to rest in the median.

Both Joseph and a passenger, Oda A. Alectus, 20, of Elizabeth N.J., were wearing their seat belts.

The Pontiac was towed from the crash scene.
