Marjorie Mearkle, Melissa Cruz and Megan Mignot, all nutritionists for Home Nursing Agencys Centre County Women, Infants and Children Program, received their international board certified lactation consultant credential.
The credentials indicate expertise in lactation and breast-feeding care. To qualify for the daylong exam, candidates must meet requirements including 90 hours of education and 1,000 hours of clinical practice.
Attorney Amos Goodall recently presented Obtaining Services in the Home and Support for the Caregiver to the Philipsburg Alzheimers disease support group. He also conducted a question-and-answer session for participants.
Goodall, a a certified elder law attorney, has practiced in Centre County since 1976. He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the Elder Law Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association.
Dan Wise, owner of Wise Construction in Boalsburg, has been elected north-central regional vice president for the Pennsylvania Builders Association.
Wise will serve on the board of directors and be responsible for overseeing the associations activities to ensure that it is properly representing and addressing the needs of the building industry. The north-central region includes Centre, Clinton, Snyder, Union and Lycoming counties.
He is a member of the Builders Association of Central Pennsylvania, where he has served as board member, president and chair of the education and legislative committees.
Wise has worked 30 years in the homebuilding industry. He serves as chairman of PBAs Training and Education Committee, chairman of the Uniform Construction Code Task Force and serves on the governmental affairs committee.
Landscape architect Robert Lingenfelter, of Weber Murphy Fox, which has an office in State College, was elected to the board of directors of the Pennsylvania chapter of the American Chestnut Foundation.
Lingenfelter will serve a two-year term on the board of the group, which seeks to restore the American chestnut to the forests and woodlands of Pennsylvania and the mid- Atlantic states.
Lingenfelter also serves on the board of the State Theatre in State College and works with Tri-County Habitat for Humanity.
Wells Fargo financial advisers Deborah Schneider, Albert Masood and Jonathan Levin recently completed the requirements to achieve the certified financial planner designation.
To qualify, candidate must have a bachelors degree from an accredited institution and must master nearly 100 topics of integrated financial planning. After passing a 10-hour examination, candidates must demonstrate that they have employed the highest ethical standards in their practices and have extensive experience in the financial planning field.
Levin is a Centre County native and all three advisers have clients based in the county.
David Panko, owner of Panko Wealth Management in Patton Township, has been elected to the National Financial Planning Associations Chapter Leaders Advisory Council. He is responsible for seven FPA chapters throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia. Panko, a 25-year veteran of the financial services industry, is a licensed stockbroker, general securities principal, and has been certified since 1996 as a chairman arbitrator for the National Association of Securities Dealers/FINRA in New York.
