Former Penn State wrestler Andrew Long was arrested in Iowa early Wednesday morning on assault charges, according to the Ames (Iowa) Police Department.
Long, 22, faces serious and simple assault, public intoxication and interfering with official acts charges stemming from an incident in Ames.
Long also faces attempted rape and assault charges stemming from an alleged sexual assault of the 55- year-old mother of a Penn State student. His case is still pending.
He left the wrestling team in August after the charges were filed.
