A one-car accident Friday on Interstate 99 in Benner Township sent eight people to the hospital, all with minor injuries.
A 2005 Honda Pilot driven by Amar Kumar, 20, of East Brunswick, N.J., went into a spin on the northbound lane around mile marker 78, near the Bellefonte exit, at around 6:50 p.m. The car traveled off the right berm of the road and down a small embankment, coming to rest in a ditch.
Kumar and seven passengers, all between 18 and 22 years old were taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center with what police classified as minor injuries. All eight were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
The Logan, Undine and Pleasant Gap fire companies assisted state police at the scene.
