Each Monday the Centre Daily Times will publish an installment in our Share our Heritage series, featuring photos from Centre Countys past. Todays photo was submitted by Faye Witmer, of Bellefonte.
It is a 1945 photo of students from Peru School, which was in Benner Township on Route 26, next to the state police drivers training building. The building now houses Stoners Small Engine Shop.
Pictured are, from left: front row: Wayne Moyer, Lynn Moyer and Fred Benner; middle row: Betty Witmer, Sally Benner, Martha Benner, Faye Witmer and Charles May; top row: Isabel Sorenson, Doris McClancy, Winn Witmer, Earl May and Irvin Moyer.
Readers can contribute to the Share our Heritage series by sharing their own photos. Just drop off or mail copies of the photos to Centre Daily Times, 3400 E. College Ave., State College, PA 16801 or email them to cdtphoto@centredaily.com.
