Thanks to readers who have been sending in notes and wishing me well on the upcoming move to the State Journal-Register in Springfield, Ill.

Wow, it has been amazing to hear from so many people, and I'm trying to respond quickly.

Thanks too for tourism suggestions, offers to help me learn to speak Illinois, and even a real estate potential deal.

All are welcome.

This has been a great 10-run at the Centre Daily Times and I can't say enough about our talented staff which I call the A team.

A McClatchy President's Award for their coverage of the sex abuse scandal is impressive, and we're proud.

I'll offer more thoughts in this blog about things I'm proud of, as I work until Feb. 24 before leaving for Springfield.
