Today I had an invasive procedure to see whether I needed prostate surgery. I didnt, but the interesting thing about the examination was the total abstraction of the object body so examined from my personality and social life than defines it.
As Bill Moyers once said, with modern medicine you leave your personality outside the hospital door.
This could be a very dark truth. But for me the abstract separation of the body is but the shadow of its extreme, of the wonderful truth that the soul can be separate in turn from embodiment. There is a radiance in this truth. And it shows just then when we face our neighbors and give our souls away.
This in turn discovers the great love that is the foundation of the world. And this clarifies everything else.
