2004 alum enters board of trustees race

Michael J. Carroll, a 2004 Penn State graduate, has entered the race for a board of trustees seat.

Carroll said, if elected, his priorities will be improving accountability, accessibility, reliability and transparency. He said in an annoucement about his candidacy that his goals include creating more open communication and establishing an endowment in Joe Pater-no’s name.

Carroll, a Washington, D.C. resident, earned a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering from Penn State. While a student, Carroll served in several capacities for Thon and undergraduate student government.

He is a member of the D.C. chapter of the alumni association and served as president form 2009 to 2011. He is currently treasurer.
