Priority areas remain in the news

Posted on February 20, 2012

It's important these days to have priority areas to focus on at any newspaper, because we cannot cover everything.

Here, we've had different ones over time but in recent years we've had three. I wrote about them in Saturday's farewell column.

The housing and excessive drinking issues became very important to me after just a few short years at the CDT. And the gas drilling issue is important to everyone in Pennsylvania, and we have to be the trusted source.

These issues will not lessen in importance in coming months and years. I look forward to reading updates on, like thousands of others who visit the site every day.

Centre Daily Times is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
