Several readers have sent emails or posted comments thanking us for the coverage of Bill O'Brien and the Penn State football team's workout session over the weekend.

I'm glad readers liked it, but they should know that the coverage was made possible because O'Brien opened the early Friday morning workout to reporters and photographers.

That was a first, and the media -- including the CDT -- showed up to cover it for our readers.

If O'Brien and his coaching staff continue an open policy, they'll get plenty of coverage. And readers will appreciate it, clearly.
