UNIVERSITY PARK Penn State will visit 2012 ACC regular-season runner- up Miami in the sixth annual ACC/Big Ten Challenge on Nov. 29 it was announced Tuesday. The two teams have never met.
The Lady Lions are 2-3 in Challenge games, including a victory over Duke in the inaugural event and a record-setting 103-84 win over nationally-ranked North Carolina last year. Game times and television coverage will be announced at a later date.
Penn State (26-7) won the Big Ten regular-season title and advanced to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament before falling to national semifinalist Connecticut.
The Hurricanes were 26-6 last season and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
The challenge kicks off Nov. 28 with Ohio State at North Carolina, Iowa at Florida State, Wisconsin at Virginia Tech, Duke at Michigan, Maryland at Nebraska, Georgia Tech at Purdue, Clemson at Indiana and Northwestern at Boston College.
Joining Penn State and Miami in action on Nov. 29 are Michigan State at N.C. State, Virginia at Minnesota and Wake Forest at Illinois.
