Stuart Smith promoted on Penn State field hockey staff

Published: June 13, 2012

UNIVERSITY PARK — Volunteer assistant coach Stuart Smith has been appointed a full-time assistant at Penn State.

Head coach Charlene Morett announced the move Tuesday in replacing former coach Annie Zinkavich, a six-year assistant and former Nittany Lion goltender who left to become an assistant at Virginia in February.

“We are extremely thrilled that Stuart has accepted the Assistant Coach position on our staff,” Morett said. “He brings an array of knowledge and experience to our program. Most importantly, his passion and pride for field hockey at Penn State is incredible.”

Smith, who has been with Penn State since 2010, is a former player from his native Australia.
