As a resident of Penns Valley for 40 years and a supporter of the Ram Community Centre, I am compelled to challenge the assertions by the Penns Valley Community Action Group that the development of the center and the work with the school district has been conducted behind closed doors.
Between May 2009 and November 2011 there were five articles and a column by Barbara Jordan regarding the center in the Centre Daily Times.
Nine ads with details about the center appeared in the Valley Grapevine between March 2010 and October 2011. They included announcements about two public meetings and the Grange Fair coffees.
Between May and December 2011 there were 20 meetings regarding the center.
There was an article in the 2010 Rampage school newsletter.
The Ram Centre website was launched in June 2011.
The Penns Valley Community Group claims that most of the communications were in support of the center. Of course! Men and women have freely given their time, talent and personal financial contributions to make this center a reality for the entire Penns Valley community.
The Ram Centre board and the dedicated campaign and project volunteers continue to work politely and diligently in public to bring this community center into existence.
