County League baseball: Lewistown rides Keefer’s arm to win

UNIONVILLE — Ryan Keefergave up one run on four hits and struck out six to earn a complete-game victory as Lewistown pounded Unionville 11-1 on Friday in the Centre County League.

The Predators pounded out 18 hits against the Cardinals, asChad Battista slammed two three-run home runs and collected seven RBIs.Kevin Reigleand Sean Heckerteach had multiple hits on the night for Lewistown.

Scott Furahad a double to lead Unionville.

Mifflin County 8, Howard 5

MILROY —Brian Billettpitched a complete-game three-hitter to lead the Stars past the Hawks.

Casey Zimmermangot the momentum going on offense for the Stars when he blasted a solo home run in the bottom of the first inning. Cameron Rhodeswent 2-for-4 to help pace Mifflin County, whileIssac Stroeheckerwent 2-for-3 and scored both times he was on base for the Stars.

Despite taking the loss for Howard, Kyle Womerhammered a two-run homer in the first inning, whileJohn Hableyadded a solo shot in the fourth.

Blanchard 11, Lemont 5

LEMONT — Blanchard scored five runs in the sixth inning to seal the victory over the Ducks.

Curt Harpsterrecorded the win for Blanchard and was backed by Matt Miller,who cracked a triple, andMatt McGeeand Brett Heggenstallerwho each had multiple hits for the Bees.

Corey Hornyakhad an impressive game in the loss for Lemont, blasting a home run and a triple, whileElliot Searerand Shane Regalalso added triples for the Ducks.

Ben Salladealso singled and doubled for the Ducks.
