Spikes defeat Scrappers to improve to 4-0 at home

UNIVERSITY PARK – The State College Spikes improved to 4-0 at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park with a 9-2 victory over Mahoning Valley tonight.

Holding a 4-2 lead, the Spikes pulled away by scoring five runs in the eighth.

D.J. Crumlich went 3-for-4 and scored three runs to lead the offense. Samuel Gonzalez, Jacob Stallings and Ryan Hornback each had two hits.

Starter Jason Creasy allowed three hits and one run in four innings. Creasy struck out four.
