Seven local students were named toSusquehanna University’sdean’s list for the spring semester. The dean’s list recognizes students who achieve a grade-point average of 3.4 or higher.

From Boalsburg:Maura Handte, a daughter of Gordon and Cheryl Handte, rising junior majoring in business administration, 2010 graduate of State College Area High School

From Howard:Cole McClarren, a son of Jeffrey and Patricia McClarren, rising senior majoring in economics and finance, 2009 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School

From Millheim:Korey McCaffrey, a recent graduate majoring in communications with an emphasis in public relations, 2008 graduate of Penns Valley Area High School

From Port Matilda:Caitlin Wilson, a daughter of Doug and Linda Wilson, rising junior majoring in music and communications, 2010 graduate of State College Area High School

From State College:Colby Brindle, a son of Kevin and Sue Brindle, rising junior majoring in business administration with an emphasis in finance, 2010 graduate of State College Area High School; Amanda Keister, a recent graduate majoring in elementary education, 2008 graduate of State College Area High School; and Samantha Virgil, a daughter of Barbara and Richard Virgil, rising sophomore majoring in business, 2011 graduate of State College Area High School

Rachel Caeli Beckert,of State College, received a Master of Arts in Teaching degree on May 12 from Drew University in Madison, N.J.
