HOUSERVILLE Lewistown rallied for four runs in the fifth and sixth innings on Thursday and held off Lemonts charge in the seventh to take a 9-7 victory over the Ducks in Centre County League baseball action.
Chad Battista (single, triple), Ryan Keefer (2 singles, double), Kevin Reigle (2 singles) and Shawn Heckert (single, double) powered the Predators (10-6) 12-hit attack.
On top 5-2 in the sixth, Battistas three-run triple led to another four-run frame. Keefer staved off the Ducks five-run rally in the seventh.
Ben Sallade and Shane Regel each had a pair of singles for Lemont (12-5). Johnny Martinez suffered the loss on the mound for the Ducks.
Howard 11, Unionville 5
HOWARD Clay Smith belted a two-run homer in the bottom of the second inning to help spark the Hawks to their 12th victory of the season.
Luke Gardner picked up the win on the mound as Howard (12-6) cruised to an 11-3 lead after six. Gage Gardner helped lead the Hawks offense with three singles. Jon Heverly added a pair of doubles, and Tyler Womer and Evan Gettig each finished with a pair of singles.
Dan Cole had a double and three singles to lead the Cardinals (3-15), while Derek Jabco added a double and two singles. Eric Gates suffered the loss for Unionville.
