Centre County baseball league: National all-stars power to victory

UNIONVILLE — The National Team hit five homers and scored five runs in the seventh inning to defeat the American Team 14-8 in Saturday’s Centre County Baseball League All-Star Game at Unionville.

The National Team scored all of its seventh-inning runs with two outs. The big inning included Matt McGhee’stwo-run homer. Tyler Good and A.J. Robinson had RBI doubles in the inning.

Brian Kochik homered in the third and fourth innings for the National Team. Kochik’s second homer was a three-run shot.

Ryan MacNamara hit a solo homer to begin the game and Ryan Mostyn added a homer in the third for the National Team.

McGhee added a double and single, Mostyn also Matt McCamley doubled and singled to aid the victory.

MacNamara allowed three runs in three innings to earn the victory. He was one of four pitchers used by the National Team.

The American Team homered twice, with Tyler Womer hitting a two-run shot in the sixth. Clay Smith also homered in the loss.

Dan Cole doubled twice Dylan Womerhad three singles andSteven Alteriosingled and doubled for the American Team.

The American Team, which used five pitchers, scored three runs in the sixth to trim the lead to 9-8.

The teams combined for 25 hits.
