STATE COLLEGE — State College American scored seven runs in the fourth inning on Friday to cruise past Mifflin County 15-3 in five innings, and into todays District 5 losers bracket final.
Gavin Schaefer-Hoods three-run home run gave State College American (3-1) an early 4-1 lead before its seven-run outburst in the fourth, powered by Vincenzo Zooks three-run homer.
Schaefer-Hood finished a triple shy of the cycle by also adding a single and a double, while winning pitcher Shawn Beattie added two singles.
State College American will meet State College National at 6 p.m. today in the losers bracket final at Montressor Field.
Todays winner will face Bellefonte in Tuesdays championship in Bellefonte.
Mifflin County finished the tournament at 2-2.
