CLARENCE Tyler Schall tossed a four-hitter and went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Clarence to a 12-2 romp over Mifflin County in American Legion baseball on Sunday.
Schall did not allow an earned run in the contest, that was called after five innings for the mercy rule. He struck out three and did not walk a batter.
With the score tied at 2-2, Clarence took control with a five-run third inning. After Lance Williamson doubled and Ben Verbitskey reached on an error, Jon Romine smacked a two-run double. Schall and Tanner Light also added RBI doubles in the outburst.
Verbitskey blasted a two-run homer in the fourth and Clarence put the game away with three runs in the fifth. Williamson smacked three doubles in a 17-hit attack. Jeff Koleno and Verbitslkey also had two hits.
Clarence (3-7) travels to Beech Creek at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
