Blair County — I have another barn story to tell but I haven't assembled the information yet so I'm substituting a photograph that needs no story.
Barn creatures are interesting. On the barn tour in the Lebanon Valley that my wife and I enjoyed a couple of weekends ago, we encountered barn swallows at every stop. They were not happy creatures when the humans arrived. They flew about angrily and some left the space for the great outdoors until we left.
Even when they weren't at home, there was evidence of their presence. White spots all over the place.
Barn creatures play a role in a barn that I'm going to photograph later this year. In this case, it's pigeons and the barn inspired a John Updike short story titled Pigeon Feathers. More on that later.
(In case you missed it, I finally photographed the Barn on Greenville Pike and my photo rather than one supplied to me now adorns that blog entry.)
