PHILIPSBURG Bellefonte strung together seven hits in the top of the third, Branton Quay pitched three shutdown relief innings and Bellefonte defeated Philipsburg in American Legion baseball action 15-8 on Sunday.
Taylor Smith and Quay each belted two-run singles to give Bellefonte a lead it would never surrender.
Seth Weaver and Zach Williams added RBI singles in the inning.
Dylan Moerschbacher notched two hits for Bellefonte that improved to 7-14 overall.
Philipsburg was led by Parker Watson and Seth Hoover, who had two singles apiece.
