Beech Creek slugs Bellefonte in American Legion baseball action

— Beech Creek improved to 10-2 in Central Pennsylvania League American Legion baseball action with a 7-1 win over Bellefonte on Tuesday.

Justin Houser earned the win as Beech Creek hitters plated four runs in the fourth and added two more in the fifth to secure the win. Clint Hickstook the loss for Bellefonte.

Chuck Probst led Beech Creek with two doubles while Kevin Tate’s two singles led Bellefonte. Doylan Deitrich doubled for Bellefonte.

Bellefonte fell to 8-15 on the season with the loss.

Howard 11, Clarence 10 (8)

CLARENCE — Dylan Womer’s RBI single was the difference in a slugfest as Howard outlasted Clarence in eight innings in Centre County Baseball League action on Monday night.

Evan Gettig led off the top of the eighth for the Hawks with a single, his third hit of the game. Ryan MacNamara struck out the next two batters, but Tyler Womer walked and Dylan Womer followed with his game-winning single.

Dylan Womer pitched a scoreless eighth to earn the win.

Gettig and Dylan Womer each had two singles and a double. Tyler Womer belted a three-run home run in a four-run fifth for the Hawks.

Geroge Schall’s three singles paced the Mounties’ 11-hit attack. Brian Kochik, who had a double, and Joe Pillot added two hits each for Clarence (10-9).
