Tom Wilson’s letter, “Our insensitive neighbors” (July 2), couldn’t have been more on the mark regarding Nancy Weinreb’s comments about the crowd at the courthouse after the verdict in the Jerry Sandusky trial was announced.

He forgot to mention that not only is Sandusky a resident of State College, where — Weinreb thinks — the more knowledgeable and sensitive people in Centre County live, but he was also a member of the university community whose image has suffered irreparable damage because of him.
