UNIVERSITY PARK — Penn State track and field athletes Brady Gehret and Casimir Loxsom have been selected to compete at the NACAC Under 23 Championships in Guanajuato, Mexico.
Loxsom will run in the 800 meters, while Gehret will be a member of the 4x400 relay. Loxsoms first race is Saturday in the 800 semifinals, while Gehret will hit the track for the first time Sunday in the first round of 1,600 relay competition.
Loxsom will be making an international appearance for the third straight summer, having made the U.S. team for the 2010 IAAF World Junior Championships and 2011 World University Games. Both are coming off competing at the U.S. Olympic Trials at the end of June.
The competition is held every two years, and includes member associations of the North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletic Association (NACAC).
