Tiana Sakona, of Bellefonte, was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Columbia College Chicago. To be named to the dean’s list, students must have a 3.75 grade-point average or above.

Sakona is majoring in dance at Columbia College Chicago.

The following local residents were named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Grove City College. Students eligible for the dean’s list have a grade-point average of 3.4 to 3.59; for the dean’s list with distinction, a GPA of 3.6 to 3.84; and for the dean’s list with high distinction, a GPA of 3.85 to 4.0.

Adam Hopkins, a son of James and Elizabeth Hopkins, of State College, and a freshman mechanical engineering major, has been named to the dean’s list with distinction. Hopkins is a 2011 graduate of State College Area High School.

Kristen Lightner, a daughter of William and Sandra Lightner, of State College, and a junior mathematics major, has been named to the dean’s list with distinction. Lightner is a 2009 graduate of State College Area High School.

Julie Hackman, a daughter of Stephen and Lisa Hackman, of State College, and a junior communication studies major, has been named to the dean’s list. Hackman is a 2009 graduate of State College Area High School.

Sarah Lapp, a daughter of Dean and Lori Lapp, of State College, and a freshman music education major, has been named to the dean’s list with high distinction. Lapp is a 2011 home-schooled graduate.

Erika Bastian, a daughter of Timothy and Anne Bastian, of State College, and a sophomore business management major, has been named to the dean’s list with distinction. Bastian is a 2010 home-schooled graduate.
