MILESBURG — Ryan Guenot collected two doubles and two singles, and Trey Butterworth had three singles to power Bald Eagle past Penns Valley 12-9 in VFW Area 5 Teener League tournament action on Tuesday.
Kody Hamer picked up the win for Bald Eagle (2-0) on the mound, striking out four, as his offense gave him room to work with a sevenrun first inning. Caleb Bell also doubled and singled in the game for Bald Eagle.
Penns Valley (0-2) put together a late rally behind the bats of Cory Woodring, Connor Dix, Chase Collison, Andy Tobias.
Collison and Tobias each had a pair of singles.
Both teams resume play today as Bald Eagle travels to Bellefonte, and Penns Valley is at Mount Union. Both games are scheduled for 6 p.m.
