Penn State defensive tackle Jordan Hill was named to the Outland Trophy Watch List and linebacker Gerald Hodges landed on the Bronco Nagurski Trophy Watch List today.
Hill, a senior from Steelton, had 59 tackles, including eight for losses, last season. He started all 12 games and played 774 snaps.
The Outland Trophy, which is selected by the Football Writers Association of America, honors the nation's top interior lineman. Hill is one of 71 players on the list.
Alabama center Barrett Jones received the award last season. He is trying to become the first back-to-back winner since Nebraska's Dave Rimington accomplished the feat from 1981-82.
The Bronco Nagurski Trophy, which is presented by the Charlotte Touchdown Club, honors the nation's most outstanding defensive player. Hodges had 106 tackles and earned first team All-Big Ten honors last season. Former Penn State defensive tackle Devon Still was a finalist for the award in 2011.
Hodges has been named to two preseason watch lists. The senior was selected to the Bednarik Award Watch List on Monday.
