WILLIAMSPORT — Friday night’s New York-Penn League game between the State College Spikes and the Williamsport Crosscutters at Historic Bowman Field was postponed due to the rain that swept through Central Pennsylvania on Friday night.

The two teams will make up the game as part of a doubleheader of two seven-inning games beginning at 5:05 p.m. on Sunday in Williamsport. Pitching matchups for the games have not yet been determined. State College was originally slated to have right-hander Jason Creasy (0-2) starting on the hill, while Williamsport was scheduled to go with left-hander Delvin Perez (2-2) in the second game of the four-game set between the two teams.

Friday’s start was delayed for two hours until the game was officially postponed at 9:05 p.m.

The Spikes and Crosscutters will head back to Medlar Field at Lubrano Park tonight for a  7:05 p.m. game prior to Sunday’s doubleheader.
