UNIVERSITY PARK — Penn State police said employees again are receiving harassing messages about recent events, including the removal of the Joe Paterno statue from outside Beaver Stadium.
Chief Tyrone Parham said this morning that most of the calls or emails are non-threatening, but a few have been forwarded to police when recipients believe they are on the threatening side.
In the past two days, police have reported three calls on the daily log of incidents. Two employees at Beaver Stadium reported threatening emails on Sunday and Monday, and an employee in Old Main reported a harassing email.
Police didn't elaborate on who the recipients were or what the emails said.
Parham said no one has been charged yet, and the emails appear to be from different people.
Police were investigating harassing phone calls to employees after the charges against Jerry Sandusky were made public in November, but police have closed that investigation after a search warrant for phone records didn’t lead to new information about suspects.
