Due process. Due process. What is it that is so hard to understand about this fundamental American right that every citizen should know?

The Penn State trustees, the NCAA and many major sports writers seem not to get it.

Graham Spanier presented his defense in Tuesday’s CDT, and I totally believe his explanation. Unfortunately, the article was buried in the interior instead of being on the front page with large headlines where it belonged

Spanier ought to sue Louis Freeh for libel, for slander and for defamation of character — a billion dollars for economic damages and pain and suffering and retraction of his report. Then he can take on the NCAA.

Likewise, the Penn State alumni should take on the NCAA as the administration and trustees seem disinclined to do so.

Our so-called leaders just get stupider and stupider and stupider.
