In all the brouhaha over the dreadful debacle that has fallen upon my beloved university, a plethora of villains have been kicked out of the closet that is the black hole of the Penn State administration.
But in the tragedy there is a hero. Has nobody noticed or realized what guts it took for Mike McQueary to report what he saw in the Penn State showers? In all this mess, he is the hero who slew the four-headed dragon and saved the children.
McQueary is the one who stopped the vampire. He is the one who has at last taught every coach in every college, university or high school that football is only an appendage of a university not the university.
He is the one who should have a building named after him.
