Update: Police identify Mill Creek firefighters injured in crash

— A fire truck carrying a crew of five crashed early Monday morning on state Route 22, sending all five individuals from the Mill Creek Fire Company to area hospitals.

The driver appeared to suffer a medical emergency and lost control of the 2000 Pierce fire truck at about 1:17 a.m. Monday, Huntingdon state police reported.

The truck left the roadway at the intersection with state Route 655, rolled onto the right shoulder and struck a sign. The truck then traveled across Route 655 and hit a structure, Sip’s Title Craft inc.

Wayne Cohenour, 41, a passenger, suffered major injuries. The driver, Mark C. Snyder, 30, suffered moderate injuries.

Three passengers - Jason Chilcote, 34; Tyler Scott, 18; and Cody Whitsel, 18 - all suffered minor injuries.

Police said all five men were wearing seatbelts.

Fire crews from Mill Creek and Mapleton were called to the scene, along with ambulance crews from the Huntingdon, Mount Union and Juniata Valley stations.
