Letter to the editor | Shame on the poachers

Published: July 31, 2012

The entire Penn State community is being punished for the despicable actions of one man.

The NCAA has made its decision and the penalties are severe.

But shame on the scavengers from other universities who are taking advantage of the situation to steal our players.

I understand that the players need to look out for their own futures, which may depend on their careers as college football players. Winning a national championship or playing in a bowl game could mean the difference for their future. But let them come to you. Stay away, stop poaching and let it play out on the field.

To the current players who choose to stay, the Penn State community is behind you all the way. Show the world what Penn State is made of. You are all championship material and you will show that not only on the field but in the classroom and in the community.

We will always be ... Penn State!
