Betsy Lynn Reese,a daughter of Robert and Debra Reese, of Centre

Hall, received a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine on June 3.

Reese earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Lycoming College in 2007. She is continuing her medical training in family medicine at West Penn Allegheny Health System- Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville.

Lindsay Starling Bixler,a daughter of Bill and Cathy Hoffman, of Hublersburg, recently was named a “Woman to Watch” by Central Penn Business Journal. The honor is presented to a woman 30 or younger who is “stepping up to help shape the central Pennsylvania of tomorrow.”

A certified public accountant with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Penn State, Bixler is a manager for audit and accounting services at ParenteBeard LLC in Harrisburg. She is in the Leadership Harrisburg Area Community Leadership Series class of 2012, chair of the United Way of the Capital Region Youth Day of Caring Planning Committee and director at large for the Pennsylvania Quarter Horse Association.

Bixler is a 2001 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School.
