LEBANON — Nate Cleaver tossed a no-hitter to cap a perfect postseason as Bald Eagle Area blanked Lebanon 6-0 Monday to capture the state VFW 15-16 Teener League Championship.
Cleaver struck out five and walked three as BEA finished the postseason 11-0, including 4-0 in the state tournament.
BEA came out swinging the the final game, scoring five of its six runs in the first three innings.
Ryan Dyke ripped a two-run double, plating Bryan Greene and Nate Cleaver, in the first inning.
In the second frame, Jeff Bennent and Dakota Bartley raced home on a double by Greene to make the score 4-0.
BEA added a run in the third. In the sixth, Brandon Gettig stole second, reached third on an error and trotted home on Bubba Bennetts single.
The team was given a fire truck escort through Bellefonte, Milesburg and Wingate on Monday evening.
